==Purpose==
This template is an interface to [[Module:TaxonItalics]], for italicizing the correct parts of the name of a taxon (at the rank of genus or lower).

<code>|abbreviated = </code> – set to {{kbd|yes}} if all but the last element of the name is to be reduced to the first letter of each element (e.g. to ''C. l. familiaris'' for input of ''Canis lupus familiaris'')<br />
<code>|linked = </code> – set to {{kbd|yes}} if the input taxon name is to be used as the target of a wikilink<br />
<code>|dab = </code> – set to {{kbd|yes}} if a parenthesized part of the input taxon name is a disambiguation term rather than a subgenus, so is not to be italicized<br />
